Tye Dyed Paper Towel Backgrounds

Posted: March 10, 2008 in Uncategorized

I got the idea to do this from Belinda’s Art Techniques – I will send you to that site for the how to’s she explains it better the I can:-) Look for March Challenge – dyeing paper towels.

Elizabeth also did this technique if you’d like to see hers you can also see hers by going to her blog Altered Book Lover — Thursday, March 06, 2008

Backgrounds made from Color Mists, Viva paper towels, and mica powders

Belinda and E both used color mists I used watered down acrylic paints, as I don’t own in color mists yet, maybe one of these days:-) lol

Here are a few images of my favorite backgrounds out of the ones I did – I made 36 and still want to make more as I forgot to break out my mica powders (compliments of E) and would really like to add some umph to my backgrounds:-) lol

This first image is of all of them.

I like how mine turned out but think they would have looked better with some mica powder added – so will have to try again:-) lol

  1. Well, I finally made it to your blog and boy was I surprised. Your tie dyed towels are really tie dyed. They came out great, and nothing like mine.Elizabeth
