Breast Cancer 2

Despite what we like to think… IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU!

Don’t take breast cancer lightly, in just this year along I’ve had more friends and family then I care to think about diagnosed with breast cancer, and in my little circle that is one to many.

It takes only an hour or two out of your day to get a mammogram and early detection can save your life. With the new insurance laws passed you should be able to call your local clinic and schedule it without having a referral, but if you do then schedule an appointment get that referral and your pap done at the same time. Another very important thing we woman need to do.

Check with your mother, daughter and girlfriends make sure they have done or are getting theirs done to!!

If you do not have health insurance, you can try to find a center that offers low-cost or free mammograms. Contact the National Cancer Institute (1-800-4-CANCER) or the American Cancer Society (1-800-ACS-2345) for assistance. Another option is the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (1-888-842-6355), which provides low-cost or free cancer screenings for women without health insurance.
