I’m running a bit behind, I ran into a period where my muse sort of took a vacation without me. So the past week I’ve been on a bit of a roll. I hope it last.

This week was a tough one for me, I often struggle with collage. It is hard for me to just put things on a page with no particular rhyme or reason. For the most part I’m actually pretty happy with how this turned out and since Donna did hers without using Teal, I figured that I should do mine without using any purple.

I used scraps of things that were on my desk and some of my 7 Gypsies tissue paper I have been hoarding like a greedy little kid with candy. the definitions are from a pack of Heidi Swapp stickers I think I bought sometime last year.

Two pieces of art using modeling paste and stencils (technique used in Inspiration Wednesday)

This one is 95% scraplifted I claim the 5% for colors and such 😉 This one is going on my wall.

today I will sing, today I will dance in the rain

This one didn’t turn out quite the way I would have liked, but practice makes perfect.

Inspiration Wednesday

Inspired from Inspiration Wednesday and Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2015

I’m not going to lie, I got a bit of an early start on this one… I pretty much knew what I wanted to do and I needed a bit of a head start since I knew the texture needed a good six plus hours to dry. seeing Tim’s January tag is where the idea for using the chit chat stickers.

What I really like about this page is I used my stuff, now for most your thinking what is the big deal about that… I love buying stuff, but I hate using them because well if you use it, sooner or later it is gone, if it is gone you either have to buy it or it is just gone. LOL

20150106_001414The background is this paper perfect I bought on clearance at Hobby Lobby years ago, if I am actually reading the tag on it 2007, and that is probably correct. I never used it. I really like the texture it created and on top of the drywall tape even more so.

20150107_044225-1The numbers are a thrift store find, a few months ago.

20150107_044316-1The word ‘create’ are letters from a package of Basic Grey I purchased so many years ago I’m not even sure as I it was from a scrapbook store in town that closed what seems like eons ago.

20150107_044337-1I bet I’ve owned the chit chat stickers for at least a year probably a bit more. That was it for the ‘stuff’ in this one but another of my goals this year is use what I have, because believe me I have enough of it.

I thought this the perfect quote for an opening page in a new journal!

Thank you Donna and Tim for some creative inspiration

Have a creative day everyone!

I joined Donna Downey ‘ Inspiration Wednesday’s. I realized that in 2013 I did more art inspired by her Wednesday video’s while most often completely different in the end, it started by something she sparked in my muse. While I would have preferred to keep IW free, my realistic side realizes the time consuming process involved in her videos and in the long run $35 isn’t really that much for some inspiration and she has never failed to make me laugh…

I’ll let you know if I think the same at the end of the year. Anyway I made my own journal… I have many started and could have worked in one or all of them, I wanted a journal dedicated to Inspiration Wednesday’s so I made my own. It is made from material as I love the rulers. My goal this year is to buy less and do more art, my secondary goal as far as art is to have every page in this journal finished

The journal pages are Canson XL 300lb paper. Three signatures with four pages and some inclusions. I used my bone folder and iron to completely flatten each page it is still thick, but subtracting the number of pages in the signature and adding an extra signature, my other journals I was trying for more pages and it became to thick and I ended up with some wasted pages because the book was just to thick, so I like how this one turned out better then the others I’ve made. Hopefully I won’t be disappointed  when I hit the end.

Have a good week. I’ll be back on Wednesday with my first page 🙂
