Woka Woka Woka….

Wow! it has been forever since I’ve posted here, sorry about that. I haven’t been as inactive as my blog though, I have stepped out of my Mixed Media persona for a bit and back into my paper artist persona I’ve become obsessed with making cards, and obsessed with ‘cute’ don’t ask me why as I didn’t ‘cute’ even when the kids were little and ‘cute’ But it makes me happy and that in the long run is what art is all about. So onto just one of many of the cards I have been creating lately I will do my best to share more of the others as well.

With the sharing of this card I will be seriously showing my age, but the memories of childhood are hard to resist. We all know and love PacMan the game is iconic. My dad and step-mom owned a game room while we girls were growing up I loved summers because we got to spend the days at work with them and I loved playing PacMan, Frogger my second favorite, Donkey Kong, Galaga. Oh so much fun.

So anyway back on track… When I seen the Dippy Dots background  from Paper Smooches and the Monster Mash stamp set from Lawn Fawn, I knew immediately I wanted to make some cards using them both.

and remember folks, video games don’t make us bad if they did most of us would be running around in the dark eating magic pills and chasing ghost 🙂 Have a great day!

Canvas Fun

I worked on this Monday, don’t really have a name for it, but then do we always have to title our art???

I got the idea from a Journal video on Pinterest – so it is not my original idea. But I had fun all the same.

Another nice thing about this piece of art is that I used consumable supplies I mean I covered a 7 x 14 frame from end to end in drywall tape. I’m so proud of me… GO ME!!! Maybe I should title it consumable supplies 😉

YAY for me!! So this post would be ‘the bit about me’ part of the blog.

I cleaned up this Christmas, I mean I REALLY cleaned up – I had gift certificates for Amazon, Walmart and some money to spend from my dad and step-mom. So I spent Christmas day cyber shopping and I had fun!!

This haul was my presents  from my secret Santa,

my awesome husband, my dad who is also awesome;

and some gift card rewards I’d earned throughout the year.

These two sets were a gift from my oldest daughter and grandkids.

These two die cuts were my gifts from my youngest daughter.

This was a Black Friday score from Blitsy.

Breast Cancer Awarness Month

Breast Cancer 2

Despite what we like to think… IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU!

Don’t take breast cancer lightly, in just this year along I’ve had more friends and family then I care to think about diagnosed with breast cancer, and in my little circle that is one to many.

It takes only an hour or two out of your day to get a mammogram and early detection can save your life. With the new insurance laws passed you should be able to call your local clinic and schedule it without having a referral, but if you do then schedule an appointment get that referral and your pap done at the same time. Another very important thing we woman need to do.

Check with your mother, daughter and girlfriends make sure they have done or are getting theirs done to!!

If you do not have health insurance, you can try to find a center that offers low-cost or free mammograms. Contact the National Cancer Institute (1-800-4-CANCER) or the American Cancer Society (1-800-ACS-2345) for assistance. Another option is the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (1-888-842-6355), which provides low-cost or free cancer screenings for women without health insurance.
